Interested in KISBY's in the Whittlesey/Coates/Kingsland areas of Cambridgeshire.
Would also appreciate information on Kingsland Mill, where my elusive ancestor EMANUEL KISBY lived and worked until his death in 1856. |

The less said the better. You can find enough information about me on the remainder of this site! I have embarked on a Kisby one-name-study and currently have a database of more than 1800 KISBY's, particularly from the 18th and 19th century and the counties of Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire.
My KISBY's came from the Whittlesey and Peterborough area of Cambridgeshire, England (see http://www.kisbee.co.uk/whit.htm )
I would love to discover any notable or even famous KISBY/KISBEY/KISBEE's (see http://www.kisbee.co.uk/note.htm ) but will be delighted to hear from anybody with KISBY relatives living or deceased.

England.

I am researching Fortescue/Foscues, and have an entry from IGI for the
marriage of JOSIAH FOSCUE to MARY KISBY in 1692, at St John, Stamford,
Lincs. I am suspect from the dates that these are the Josiah and Mary who then start baptising large numbers of children in Barnwell St Andrews, Northants, between 1692 and 1700 odd, with names changing erratically from Foscu towards Fortescue. Do any of you know anything of this Mary, or her family? |

My new grandmother in law has sent me an article from her latest edition of the British legion newsletter. In
it there is a person looking for an Eve Kisby who served in the British Army and whom he knew in 1944. The
person looking for Eve is called Fernand Wauathier
Does the name Eve Kisby ring any bells with anyone? |

One of my ancestors, Ann Threadgill, married a Henry Kisby at Wisbech Independent Chapel, on 10 November 1847.
Henry's father was William Kisby, farmer, of Outwell, Norfolk. I would appreciate any information anyone has on Henry, Ann, or their surviving child Sarah Anne Kisby (bap 26 Oct 1849, Outwell). I believe Henry, Ann and Sarah emigrated to the USA in 1852 and settled near Albany in New York State. |

Andrew Titman Cambridge, England e:mail act41[at]cam.ac.uk 28 October 2001 |
My fourth-great grandmother was Elizabeth Kisby who married Edward Titman in Molesworth in 1796. I have established that Elizabeth was born in Winwick and was the daughter of Samuel Kisby and Sarah Bucknell. Samuel was described as being of Polebrook when he married Sarah. He was probably born about 1740. However I have been unable to find his baptism. In Winwick there do seem to be Kisbys back to the late 17th century but no Samuel that fits. I've also tried looking in Polebrook but without success. Interestingly I also have a second Kisby link in that a James Kisby married an Elizabeth Titman in Brington in 1824, and this happened to be where Edward and Elizabeth lived after they married. I haven't been able to find Elizabeth's baptism (though I suspect she may have been Edward's daughter) or any more information on James to determine how closely related they were. |

I am interested in both Kisby and Kisbey as my ones swop between the two! The oldest I have is Edward Kisby born
circa 1792 of Minster, Kent married to Elizabeth Jane (maiden name unknown)
of Tilbury, Essex. They had the following children Sarah Christiana 1814, Maria Louisa 1815, Henry Richard 1822,
John Fredrick 1823, Thomas 1827, George 1828.
I would like to think that their first born was also called Edward Kisby, born circa 1815 Gravesend, Kent(occ. fisherman), but the records are poor at this point. This second Edward Kisby married Caroline Jane SHORE b.circa1820 Gt Clacton, Essex. Their children included Caroline b.circa1840 (all at Queenborough , Sheppey. Also Eizabeth M 1842,Edward S 1844, Sarah A 1846, Maria M 1850, Theresa (Thyrsa)Mehalia(Mehala) and her twin Mehalia Teresa Kisby born 22 Feb 1853. The latter married my great grandfather Henry Holloway at Chelmsford in 1886 after her first husband (surname FRYETT died). |

I am currently researching the career of Frederick Ronald Kisby and have his
Efficiency Medal (issued in 1949) and his Royal Warrant for the
Imperial Service Order - he served as an Army officer during World War Two; later joined the Civil Service and in 1968 was awarded the Imperial Service Order as a senior official in the Ministry of Social Security.
Any assistance would be much appreciated. |

My name is Frederick Edward Kisbee and I am in Queensland Australia. My Father was Frank William Frederick Kisbee who married Florence Anne Keeler in Kyogle N.S.W. Father was born in Tooting, England but I have a very limited amount of information and seem to get conflicting stories about his and my grandparents lives. I would dearly love to receive any information I can get to put together a bit of a family history. Thankyou. |

Vernon has a family bible with the name Henry Kisby, given by the Primitive
Methodist Sunday School, March River Side, Upwell, Cambs/Norfolk. It is dated
Oct 2 1881. Does anyone know anything about Henry Kisby?
Vernon would also love to trace other family members, some may be in Canada and others in Australia. He especially wishes to find one Joyce Smith (née Harvey), his cousin. She went to Australia in the 1970's. |

Looking for any information about my deceased uncle Ernest Kisbey. When I last heard of him in 1962, Ernest lived in South London and was approx 50.
My mother's maiden name was Patricia Eleanor Kisbey. My grandfather's name was Herbert Joseph Kisbey. Herbert was a Variety Artiste (known as Kisbey The Call Boy) and traveled to places like
South Africa. A race horse that won the Derby in 1926 was named "Callboy" after my grandfather.

My wife's paternal grandfather was a George Kisbee, but I cannot find anything about him on census records, so have drawn a blank on that part of our family tree. George was born in 1884 and died in Yalding, Kent, England in 1961, aged 77. Apparently had at least two brothers William and Albert Kisbee. He married a Florence Honess and had children Vera, George and Violet. I would very much like to learn more about the family. Thanks if anyone can help. |

My Kisbee's originate from Northamptonshire and I have collected extensive records going back to the seventeenth century. Unfortunately in 2005
I lost all my possessions in a serious house fire. This included my family history research, my contact list and over 300 certificates.
Anyone who has previously contacted me I would love to hear from them again. Bob Twyford very kindly sent me a gedcom right after the fire so I was able to start again with a fair database. But it is the certificates, passports, letters and original documents that will be difficult to replace. If anyone is willing to email me electronic copies that I have shared in the past I would be eternally grateful. |
