FAMILY TREE C17th-1896

Elizabeth Fovargue (1840 -1896) and ancestors....

From information supplied by M. Oldfield, Whittlesey, UK, 29.11.95
(Purple text by Sean Kisby, 29.2.00)

On a freezing Novemberday in 1995 I paid my first visit to Whittlesey, Cambs. I only had 30 minutes before my next train arrived, so only managed to speak to one person - a helpful lady in the local history centre. And it turned out we were related to one another!!
Maybe I will discover at some point that I am related to the entire population of Whittlesey, but, at the time, I was amazed at the coincidence. Being a Fovargue (pronounced 'FOVARG') by birth, she had amassed a sizeable amount of fascinating information about her ancestors, which she generously shared with me.

SEE GEDCOM FOVARGUE LIST.

Record of marriage of Jean Fovargue and Rose Pronier not found. Jean and Rose may have been from Norwich - There were Fovargues in the woolen trade there during the 1680's. These Fovargues originated from Tourcoing, north of Lille, which at that time was in the Spanish Netherlands. This would make them Walloons...
